Andrea Engavo

BIO

I was born in Lander, Wyoming, I grew up at military bases around the country, and I came home to the Wind River Reservation, in 1990.  I raised three children, I have three grandsons, and one Yorkshire Terrier Silky named Kahleesi.

I attended Central Wyoming College, 2014, and I transferred to the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, 2015. I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh with a Bachelor’s in Human Services in 2017 and I attended Casper College in Addictionology.  I began Hazelden Betty Ford Graduate School of Addiction Studies working towards becoming a Licensed Alcohol & Drug Counselor (LADC)/ Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), in the Masters of Arts program.

PROGRAM

I am the Therapeutic Ongoing Recovery (TOR) Advocate for Eastern Shoshone Recovery Program.  I work with chronic pain management providing alternative pain management services to the community.

“Regaining a better life for our families and our community”

It is the mission of the TOR Program to provide access to opioid use disorder prevention, treatment, and recovery support services for tribal members, using evidence-based treatment with Native American traditions, and reducing unmet treatment needs.

The TOR Program utilizes a participatory and advocacy focused planning approach to provide pain management to the community using alternative pain management service

Mental Health Therapist

John Oberly, Jr.

Hello. My name is John T. Oberly Jr., and I'm a Mental Health Therapist with ESR. I'm Shoshone/Arapaho/Comanche and Osage.  I have an extensive history of working in Substance Abuse programs at all levels of care; from community prevention, to outpatient and intensive outpatient, and residential treatment.  I have worked with people from all walks of life, serving urban and non-urban Native people and communities along the way.  My passion is to incorporate traditional ways of understanding with "evidence-based" treatment.  As a trained White Bison "firestarter," I integrate the Medicine Wheel and traditional teachings into my practice as a Therapist in both individual and group settings.  I look forward to working with ESR and hope to be of service to our tribal community and people in a good way.
